Strawberry & Nutella Baked French Toast


Serves 4-6:

1 14-16 oz loaf Brioche bread

¾ cup Darbo Strawberry Fruit Spread

½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread

2 large eggs

½ cup almond milk

1 tsp. Taylor and Colledge vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

1 tsp. salt

½ tsp. ground cinnamon


Butter a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Slice the bread evenly into ½ inch thick slices. Starting with an end piece, spread about ¾ Tbs. jam on the cut side and place it upright into the prepared loaf pan.

Pick up the next slice and spread about ½ Tbs. Nutella on one side, flip and spread jam on the other side. Place the slice into the loaf pan so that the Nutella side is facing the previous slice.

Repeat until all slices have been placed into the loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Slowly pour the egg mixture over the bread in the loaf pan. Press the bread down with a spatula to ensure that the egg mixture is evenly distributed. Let the bread soak for 30 to 60 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake the bread for 30 minutes or until the top becomes golden and shiny. Let the bread cool and slice diagonally to serve.
