Success story
It was 1879, when Rudolf Darbo laid the foundations for his "fruit steamery" in Gorizia (now in Italy by the Slovenian border), he created what is now one of the most successful companies in Austria's history. Some 50 years later, his son, Adolf Darbo, relocated the company in the Tyrolean village of Stans, concentrating his efforts producing quality syrups and bottling honey.
After World War II and the subsequent rise in tourism, demand for preserves and honey rose particularly in the catering trade, and Darbo gradually grew to become the number one supplier in this sector. Guests from near and far were now able to find out for themselves just how good unadulterated nature tastes.
