History

The Darbo family started making preserves way back in 1879 in the town of Görz which then belonged to Austria. During the inter-war years, the family moved to the town of Stans in the Tirol, and began to concentrate more and more on making high-quality foodstuffs.

After the Second World War, the growth of tourism saw demand rise for preserves and honey in catering establishments. Darbo gradually became the Number 1 company in this field, and guests from near and far could now enjoy Darbo produce at the breakfast table. Klaus Darbo took over the company in 1970.

Top international catering establishments have for many years been customers of Darbo's high-quality preserves, fruit spreads, honeys and fruit syrups.
